It’s been 30 days since R v. Mernagh was argued before Ontario Court of Appeal. If we’re lucky a ruling from the panel of three judges – who are known to vote in tandem – could be done sometime in August. Could be sooner or later, but it took 90 days to write the original ruling. Given the gravity of R v. Mernagh, I’m anticipating the justices to examine this issue very closely. They’re not going to take striking down personal marijuana possession and grow laws and a government run program lightly.
Today is June 3rd, and there are 766 days left to my release date of July 9th, 2014. I've served 823 days, and with my good time credit, I've got 1,058 days behind me on this 1,825-day (5-year) sentence.

Are cannabis plants adversely affected by prohibition? Does marijuana grow better in a stress free environment? Does growing cannabis make me less stressed? Unfortunately it’s a difficult theory to prove or disprove because pot prohibition exists just about everywhere.
I'm really going to miss her.
She was beautiful – tall and slender, with curves in all the right places – and she sparkled like a crystal. Anywhere we went people commented on how lovely she looked. Though she could be dirty at times, she was always classy, graceful and elegant, and she made this chump look like a somebody whenever we were together.

My declaration in my previous blog that activists who oppose the legalization initiative on the November ballot in Washington State are acting foolishly and counter to the interests of our movement provoked a reaction, not unexpectedly.

One of the great things about being a professional pot journalist (and believe me, there are many) is enjoying the opportunity to travel to foreign metropoleis to conspire with likeminded cannabis activists and sample fine strains of marijuana.
Dateline, Wednesday May 2 - I stumbled out of bed with my 5am wake up call in my Granville st hotel room. I had come over to Vancouver from the Island two days prior to spend some extra time with fellow activists and my beautiful girlfriend Kimberly before heading to Toronto for the Global Marijuana March on May 5.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the (at least) 20,000 passionate potheads marching through the Toronto streets for the world's largest chapter of the 14th Annual Global Marijuana March. Check out my photos!
Today is Wednesday, April 25. I have 805 days to go to my release. Ten days from now, on Saturday, May 5 – on the day of the Global Marijuana March, and on the occasion of my great friends Chris Goodwin and Erin Gorman's wedding in Toronto after the march – I'll have put in 795 days in prisons serving out this 1,825 day sentence.
