Cops return medicine

In December 2000, a court judge ordered the Humboldt County Sheriffs Department to return less than a half ounce of pot to Chris Giaque.
The bud was seized from Giaque during a routine traffic stop in 1999, even though Giaque was carrying the ID card identifying him as a legal marijuana user.

Police charged Giaque with "marijuana transportation" and also with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after he protested their actions.

Giaque's attorney filed a motion for the pot to be returned, and it was granted.
