Cannabinoid anti-tumor effect

A study in the January 2003 edition of the Journal of Clinical Investigation showed that local application of synthetic cannabinoids inhibited the growth of malignant skin tumors in mice. Both forms of cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) are found in normal skin of humans and mice.
Meanwhile, a separate study, published in the January 2003 edition of the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, showed that cannabinoids reduced the formation of blood vessels in malignant gliomas in mice. This effect reduced the blood supply to the cancer.

The study claimed that this could be an important aspect to the anti-tumor effects of cannabinoids.
