It is interesting to see someone make sweeping statements about history while showing such a total lack of understanding about the history they are using to justify their prejudices. Men and women from Western democracies were freedom fighters who went to war to defend their world from the threats of imperialism (WW1) and fascism (WW2). To assert that those who can no longer speak for themselves would automatically align themselves with the views expressed by "Justice" Craig by virtue of having sacrificed their lives in defence of freedom is outrageous in the extreme.

The period since the end of the Second World War has seen a massive expansion of the American empire and the slow but steady replacement of its democratic ideals with fascist realities. The war on drugs is nothing more than a tool used, by those who hold power and covet more, to destroy the very freedoms which the fallen sacrificed themselves to protect. The imprisonment of Marc Emery in the US is a slap in the face for Canadian sovereignty, demonstrating just how little the US cares about the rights of others to make their own choices.

It sickens me that a Canadian judge, someone whose loyalty to Canadian law should be beyond question, cannot see how much damage has been done to Canadian law by the disrespect which the US has shown to it. He should be ashamed of himself and, if he understood the true meaning of the word, he would never refer to himself as a "Justice" again. I will give him credit though for appropriately titling his article "The Undermining of Sacrifice" because that is exactly what he has done.
