Med Pot Rules in Hawaii

Possession and cultivation legal within limits

Hawaii's Governor Ben Cayetano has approved new rules to accompany the state's medical pot law passed in 2000.
Physicians in Hawaii can now obtain registration certificates for eligible patients, allowing them to legally use marijuana for a variety of ailments.

An annual $25 registration fee allows patients or caregivers to possess three ounces of prepared marijuana and to cultivate a total of seven plants, three of which may be mature with the remaining four being immature.
