The Methamphetamine Anti-Proliferation Act is expected to pass the US House of Representatives and be signed into law before the November federal elections.
Last issue, we reported that the bill banned discussion about both manufacture and use of any illegal substance. In fact, the bill was amended to prohibit only information on manufacture. Yet "manufacture" legally includes altering or processing, so recipes for making hash or even pot-brownies would remain prohibited topics.

The Senate version of the bill (S.486) is now before the House of Representatives, where it is backed by both Republican and Democrat members. Despite a number of prominent newspaper editorials against the bill, and criticism from many Internet-freedom organizations, there is strong support for the legislation on Capitol Hill.
