On Thursday, August 19, Cannabis Culture publisher Marc Emery was sentenced to 92 days in jail in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Emery had been convicted of trafficking because a witness saw him pass a joint in March 2004.

In the spring of 2004, Marc Emery launched a college speaking tour, with over a dozen dates planned on campuses across Canada. One of the last stops on his tour was the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon.

The popular Blunt Brothers Caf? in the heart of Vancouver?s pot-block fell victim to a raging fire on the morning of Sunday, April 25, 2004 ? a fire started, claim investigators, by arsonists using an accelerant.
Three dumpsters were spotted burning in the back alley behind the three-story historic Gastown building shortly before dawn. The arsonists had apparently poured fuel under the back door of the building and into the dumpsters.

Pot-TV takes summer hiatus

The Pot-TV Internetwork suffered a three week hiatus during June, as producer Marc Emery announced that the Internet-based broadcasting system would be permanently shutting down, then changed his mind and brought the system back, albeit on a somewhat smaller scale.

Unfortunately, due to the expenses incurred durring the election and the ever increasing cost of streaming video on a website that recieves almost no revenue, POT-TV is shutting down.
Unless some rich sponsor can come up with twenty thousand a month, or a genius can figure out a way we can do the same, it's all over baby.

Its been a fun eighteen months, and we've helped educate the whole world.

Cannabis Culture magazine faced down police censorship in Timmins, Ontario, and won.
In late September, police in Timmins, Ontario began threatening local storeowners with arrest if they continued selling Cannabis Culture and High Times magazines. As a result, both were pulled off the shelves of all stores in the city.

Hemp BC was a store founded by Marc Emery in Vancouver, Canada, in April 1994. It was one of Canada's very first hemp stores, as selling pipes, bongs and pro-pot books was (and still is) illegal in Canada.
