My plants are about 3 feet tall and have immaculate looking buds on them, but I have been unable to get large and dense buds even though all the hairs and stigmas are completely red when harvested. My 4?x8? system is lit by two 1000w HPS lamps on tracks. The room stays in the mid-70?s.

Since growing this strain, I have come to regard it as one of the finest available. It is very consistent, easy to grow, and resistant to mold and insects. The high and aroma are unforgettable - simply put, this is some fine, fine shit!

Stoner Steva,
British Columbia

Yes. Plants absorb water and nutrients through openings on the leaves called stomata. These pore-like openings also permit CO2 to enter and release oxygen.

Water may be too pure, for example, without much calcium; or it may be the opposite ? it may contain too many dissolved solids. The pH can be too acid or alkaline or the water may have a spike in one or a group of nutrients that affects the nutrient balance.

Reusing soil

Does flushing do a good enough job to allow you to start back at square one? Will this produce plants as healthy as the first batch?

I started three healthy plants (two 12", one 22") in a simple hydro setup consisting of a drip system draining back to a tub filled with water and hydro nutrients. The plants are in meshed pots with lava rocks and perlite. The plants were all doing great until I followed a friend's advice and added a cup of blood meal to each tank.

Curious Newfie,
Newfoundland

The chlorine added to the water supply does not seem to have any effect on plants. It has been added to water supplies for more than seventy years, and houseplants and gardens are still thriving.

Actual organic earth allows buds to produce flavours, tastes and effects which cannot yet be reproduced in hydroponic systems. Unlike hydro systems, soil is not meant to be a sterile medium. Quite the contrary, the best soils are very much alive and thriving.
By making quality video documentaries that use televisions and movie theaters to spread the message of legalization.

Hot on the heels of Jeff Meyers' new film about Jack Herer, The Emperor of Hemp, is another fine documentary, Marijuana: Beyond the Smoke Screen, made by a Southern California company named Parallax Productions.

Banana Belt bud
