The Legalise Cannabis Alliance from the UK will hold an anti-prohibition event at the award-winning Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham.Cannon Hill Park is one of the premier parks in the city of Birmingham as well as the West Midlands and has been awarded Green Flag status as a result of its beautiful flowerbeds, lakes, pools and a wonderful selection of tree species. But on August 9th 2009 the park will play host to a group of people who are advocating an entirely different type of plant: the much maligned cannabis plant.

On Saturday May 8, 2004 the B.C. Civil Liberties Association will host a conference to demonstrate the ramifications of a legal cannabis environment. The conference, entitled "Beyond Prohibition: Legal Cannabis in Canada" will be introduced with remarks by Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell and the keynote address provided by Senator Pierre Claude Nolin.
The results of this conference will be presented to Parliament one month later at Fill the Hill on June 5 by B.C. Civil Liberties Association Policy Director, Kirk Tousaw.
